Drawn from evidence-based practices of ABA, this small play-social groups led by a clinician who understands the value of children’s play, gives your child tools to improve social skills, emotional intelligence and self-confidence.

10:00 - 10:10 Arrival Routine

Students arrive at the center and greet staff. Then, they put away their belongings in their cubbies, and choose an activity.

10:10 - 10:30 Functional Play

Children self-select a free play toy and activity from available bins and play alongside their peers. The tubs include hands-on activities such as puzzles, play dough, Lego Duplo, cars, and more. They may work with a friend if they choose.

10:30 - 10:50 Circle Time

Children will engage in a read-aloud, music and movement using songs, rhymes, and fingerplays.

10:50 - 11:00 Activity

Children will be provided with an arts and craft or group activity where they are required to play with their peer and interact with them during this activity. Social Skills will be practiced.

11:00 - 11:10 Potty and Wash Hands

Children will use the toilet and wash hands to get ready for snack time.

11:10 - 11:25 Snack Time

Children will go to their individual cubbies and get their snack, find a seat on a table open and eat their snack. Once finished they will put their items back in the cubby and wash hands if needed.

11:25 - 11:40 Story Time

Children will sit down to listen and participate in story time with teacher and peers.

11:40 - 11:55 Closing Games

Children will participate in closing games like “Simon Says”, “I Spy”, “Sleeping Children”, Wiggle games, animal walks, Shake your Sillies etc.

11:55 - 12:00 Pick up

Children will clean up and wait for parents by continuing closing games and/or sand box.

The groups aim to include children who will both learn from and grow together, while enjoying each other’s company, and ideally continue friendships beyond the group. And, it’s completely free for all attendees!
